Training for Early Years

Enable provides training for the Early Years, by highly qualified, skilled and experienced practitioners, that focuses on quality learning experiences for young and very young children.

We are passionate about providing enabling environments to develop the unique child and foster positive relationships so that learning and development can take place effectively. We want all children to enjoy their childhood and achieve their potential, so we aim to enable practitioners to increase young children's well-being by listening to children's voices as they observe and plan to meet needs and interests.

Our Treasure Basket and Heuristic Play training follows Elinor Goldschmied's principles. It also takes into account other sensory experiences for the very young as well as observation, early schema and the role of the practitioner.

Messy Play and Music and Movement training explore how co-ordinating movement is vital for literacy skills and demonstrates how the 6 areas of learning can be addressed by a simple music and movement or messy play session.

Schema and observation can be incorporated into most of the training if required, but the Schema training itself explores how open-ended resources can be used to create enabling environments to support schema, both indoors and outdoors, enhancing well-being. It also takes into consideration the observation cycle and explores how schema can be incorporated into planning to develop the unique child.

Keeping Young Children Safe offers practitioners opportunities to reflect on their knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and Child Protection issues. It relates practice and procedures to the Common Core, ECM and the EYFS, and explores Muli-Agency working.

Outcomes for all our training can be found via the training pages.
